The Harlem School of the Arts completed its $9.5m renovation earlier this month – continuing the ongoing transformation of St. Nicholas Avenue between 141st and 145th where Harlem Academy and Neighborhood Charter School also have invested in new facilities.
While its fall classes are still conducted virtually, the school’s new architectural splendor eagerly awaits a return of its rich community of students and teachers once again convening in a shared passion for learning, creating and performing.
The new facilities were made possible by a generous gift of $17 million by trumpeter and record company executive Herb Albert to the school -- including $9.7 million for the recent upgrade.
