NYC Department of Sanitation has new rules for the hours that trash will sit out on NYC streets. Hamilton Terrace residents, especially owners, take note!
DSNY states that under the new rules, slated to go into effect on April 1, 2023, residential buildings have two (2) options, each of which would substantially decrease the amount of time waste is on the curb:
[1] Place waste out after 6:00 PM in a container of 55 gallons or less with a secure lid, or
[2] Place waste out after 8:00 PM, if putting bags directly on the curb.
The Adams' Administration hopes this means waste will sit on the curb for less time overall, attracting less rodents.
